Day 2 of my captivity

The mini-mester is just beginning, so why do I feel like the world is ending? I have never wanted to change careers so much in my life. Maybe it will pass. It's really too early to tell.

On the up side, chocogirl sent me some great pictures of

the town hall


and a mug from her town.

Yes, on all accounts.

I'm mainly frustrated with the schedule. Classes are in session, but none of the business offices are open, the library closes early, and they can't even get their books because the bookstore isn't open and the one by UNT doesn't carry the book we're using. Grr... Also, mini-mester is not conducive to debate preparation. They have to do so much out-of-class work that must be done before we can go to the next step of the process that I let them go after 1.5 hours today so they could research before the library closed....2 hours before classes are out.

Next week will be better. Surely it will.

Since the block of course time is so long, I would suggest letting them go early regularly so that they can benefit from the class and so that you don't have to readjust everything just to accommodate it. Maybe go the library with them and make it "research day" or something.
