lilmouse1073 is the best. Ever. Thank you, thank you, three bags full! I like "just because" presents.My students are funny. Speeches haven't been bad. OK, Monday afternoon was pretty rough, but they've gotten better (or I've lowered my expectations) since. Their assignment is to pick something - poem, part of a story/novel, song lyrics, fortune cookie slip, whatever - that reflects something in their personality. I'm not looking for depth here - basically, if they like it, they can use it. Today, one of my students performed Little Bunny Foo Foo (complete with hand motions) and actually applied it to her life. Tears of laughter, my friends. I'm glad that she picked up on the fact that all assignments in my class are staged solely for my amusement (and they thought they were here to actually learn public speaking). If they succeed in amusing me, they're gold.
That's all that's going on. Except that Margat, Jeff, and Micah will be here today or tomorrow! And I seriously crave Taco Bueno right now.

Date: 2004-02-05 05:56 pm (UTC)I haven't been watching the weather much, but it seems that every county in Texas had flood watches last night. Of course, Denton was part of that and I saw no evidence of flooding. I haven't heard from them - I hope they're having a safe go of it. We're supposed to go out tonight if they're not too tired, so if I don't hear by late this afternoon, I'm checking up on them.
