*sings* Sitting in my chair at my desk..
Nov. 11th, 2003 04:17 pmI'm currently making up a song about sitting at my desk in my office wasting time. It's to the tune of Sitting on (at?) the dock of the bay. I would post my new (and, I think, improved) lyrics, but really - it's quite enough to just admit that I'm sitting here writing a song about...sitting...here.
Anyway. How much does Yahoo suck? Let me count the ways.. (oh, no...not a poem, too!). It keeps flipping out on me.
I am pleased to announce that, after only 5 (has it only been five - seems longer) years of teaching, I have finally managed a schedule for next semester that a) gives me 7 classes, b) doesn't start before 12:30 pm, and c) gives me Fridays off. I feel very accomplished and in demand.
I discovered something weird about myself today. I am oddly touched by how excited people get when they win on game shows. Even makes my eyes all teary. I was watching the Family Feud today - they had the celebrity look-a-likes on - and a tear trickled down my cheek when the Whoopi-wannabe won the $20,000 for the AIDS charity. Then I thought back about other moments in game shows that made me have this reaction (like the lady who won $25,000 on Pyramid and was jumping up and down because now she could furnish her new house), and I was unsettled. I didn't use to be this emotional...over nothing. What happened?

Date: 2003-11-12 04:42 am (UTC)I had to pick up three different schools to do the 7 classes, but it was accomplished. I'm pretty established at two of them. The other one just had to bend to my will. Muahahahah!!
