coffeesnob318: (jacyn's shiny things)
Sorry. Sugar high. The students are doing demonstrative speeches today, and almost half of the morning class brought sweets. *swings from the rafters, which is quite a trick, considering there are no rafters in here*

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] chicklet73 for the card! I actually received it last week, right before I left for the parents' house, but I'm just now getting around to posting about it.

Thanks also to [livejournal.com profile] bubbles79 for the card and the great travel mug. It lights up! I took it to class with me today.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sevinish for the postcard. Yep, looks totally like a holiday dog to me! :)

I think that that is all. I hope I'm not forgetting anyone. *ponders for a moment; gets distracted by something shiny*

The progressive dinner for New Year's is well underway. Except that we don't know if we should be expecting 10 or 30 people, since no one seems to understand what "RSVP" means. I guess we'll just overplan and graze until the food runs out. That way, I don't have to narrow down my appetizer selections. I'm making hummus, this weird black-eyed pea (apparently they bring good luck. I don't really believe in luck, but ok.) dip, and a southwest dip to go with pita wedges and veggies. I'm also making crab/onion pinwheels and fried vegetarian wontons (courtesy of AB's wonton show). I might make sausage balls, too, since they're so easy. I may have to set up a bigger table...

My house is a wreck, and if I don't do laundry soon, I'm going to run out of pants. It's a good thing that I have New Year's Eve off - I'm going to need the whole day. I should grade now so that I don't have to grade tonight and maybe could get a headstart on it. Nah....
