This weekend was fun!
I arrived at Mom and Dad's house on Friday with bundles of laundry (might as well use downtime to my advantage, right? I wonder if I actually know how to relax...) and presents. My Aunt Gale and Uncle O'Neal were there, which was a pleasant surprise. The Parents were sweet. They have a friend who makes them homemade (every ingredient is homemade) enchiladas, and they rule, so they usually don't last very long. But they had saved me some from the night before so that I didn't miss out. We exchanged the gifts that we usually save until Christmas Day on Christmas Eve so that we could spend the next day at MeMaw's house. My favorite gift from Mom and Dad was the set of bookends that double as picture frames. She even let us go through her twenty thousand photo albums to find just the right pictures, so that was what Tammy and I spent the majority of the evening doing.
Christmas Day was awesome. We went to Grandma Sharp's (more affectionately known as MeMaw). All three of the cousins got to come, including Landon with Holly and their new baby Lance and dog Pancho. One guess as to who monopolized the baby-holding time (what? All they had to do was ask - I would have given him up, I swear...). MeMaw was ecstatic - she loves feeding people more than anything in the whole wide world, and she had plenty of people to feed. Her niece and nephew even brought their families, so I got to meet them. It's nice to have faces to go with the names.
Wow, my family can gossip. Just...wow. My head is still reeling.
Sunday, after church, we went back and had a quick lunch before we all had to get on the road.
Fun and merriment was had by all.
Now I'm back at work. The day has been pretty good so far. The students in the morning class have compiled a lot more research than I expected, so we're off to a good start for the upcoming debate. The first class is debating stem cell research and the afternoon class is debating physician-assisted suicide. Good times.
We've received attention notices that the computer system will be down all day tomorrow, so I will type at you again on Wednesday.
