If the thing is cats
Nov. 21st, 2005 07:07 amNext three books in the year's 50:
A Series of Unfortunate Events - 1-3:
I have a confession to make. I am, apparently, and probably much to the author's horror, one of those people who enjoys reading about the misfortunes of children. Well, imaginary children, at least. The way this author writes was annoying at first, with all the definitions, but I adjusted pretty quickly. Good thing, I guess, since it was written for teenagers. Yes, I know that I'm cheating by reading three books that took about an hour apiece to finish from beginning to end, but I don't care. I'm going to reach that 50.
The reason I adjusted was because he says really off the wall things that crack me up, such as, "If you are allergic to a thing, it is best not to put that thing in your mouth, particularly if the thing is cats." I laughed and laughed (Go on - picture it. You'll laugh, too).
Also, these books remind me of Margat's sense of humor, and, thus, they remind me of her, which is always welcome.
I think I shall read the others in the series, too! That may be the only way I reach 50 books this year.
