Snow day!

We have snow! Not even an inch yet, but school is already being cancelled for the day! Yay! God bless Texans and our freaking out about even the smallest degree of precipitation!

So I have the day off. Which means I may or may not be around. I've got presents to wrap and a house to clean before I get to play. But yay! I have time to do it!

Alton Brown is so cute. He man-squealed at the thought of Santa giving him presents. And they referenced the Christmas Story! *luvs on him*

Yeah, I was just telling Sev. I'm angry because she doesn't want to go out because it's 50 degrees outside. We don't get snow days unless it snows like 3 feet at least. LOL. Lucky bastards.

Boy, I wish we got the day off of work, for like, any amount of snow, ever. We could be getting 2 feet of it and they'd want us to make a "noble effort" to come on in¹.

Which I wouldn't do, but now I'd have to feel guilty about it.

1. I don't mean to make digs at my company. I still love it here. It seems almost EVERY company in the area has this policy. No one cares if it's terribly dangerous for their employees to try and commute. *sigh*

What Good Eats ep were you watching?

It was one where he was making sugar cookies. I saw it yesterday at 6:00. Santa came down the chimney and woke him up to complain about the cookies, so AB made some for him on the spot. It was funny - at the end when he asked Santa for some kind of cookie gun, Santa said, "You'll shoot your eye out!" Tee hee!

I wish he'd been at my house. Then I wouldn't have to make cookies to have some. I'm not sure I'm willing to put forth the effort.
