Wishes

I just love this meme. I stole it from all of you. Well, all of you who posted it. The rest of you should. I'm poor, but I will do cheap things. Wait....that didn't come out right...

STEP ONE

-Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. Seasons 1 & 2 DVDs of Gilmore Girls
2. Extra paid lj time or icon time (since that runs out first)
3. Billy Boyd or Brad Pitt icon with smartass yet Billy/Brad-friendly text of your choosing
4. Donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in honor of my mom, Joy Terry, who is a survivor or of my aunt, Phyllis Catherall, who was not.
5. Take time to treat yourself to something that you never have time to do, and don't feel guilty about doing it (btw, tell me about it so that I can share in your joy).
6. If you drink coffee, switch to Equal Exchange (which you can get at Trader Joe's - it's not labeled "EE," but it's the coffee in the black resealable bags and the Cafe Pajaro). You can also get it at www.equalexchange.com if you drink enough to buy in bulk (I suggest the Love Buzz blend). Or you can email me, and my EE connection and I will find the place closest to you that sells it.
7. Gift cards/certificates to Amazon.com, Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, Victoria's Secret, Office Depot, Crate and Barrel, or Nordstrom.
8. Touristy coffee mug from the city that you live in (I collect them).
9. Air miles so that I can visit all these people I've been promising to visit so that they don't disown me.
10. Surprise me, because I like surprises the best of all.

I'm leaving this open, so I'm not posting my address here, but if you email me at coff_e_snob@yahoo.com or coffeesnob@gmail.com, I will send you the information you need.

I'll be checking tomorrow to see if there is any elving *thinks of Orlando Bloom; gets distracted* that I can do.

In the thriving metropolis of Childress. Take 287 south about 2 hours, and you're there!

Oh how funny. I drive through Childress every time I go from here to Dallas or Austin. First time I drove through there, I swore it said "Childless" on the sign.

Heh, heh. Nope, definitely not childless. Making babies is the only thing to do in that town.
