Hello, all. Not much going on. I lost an lj friend, but I don't think it was personal. I get the feeling that most of her flist are actually people she knows well, and I'm not. She just posted something about her lj being friends only, but comment if you wanted to be added, except that she only allows friends to comment. ??? Oh well.

I do have to comment on an experience that I had last night:

Dear Dallas Highway Department,

Finish the damn roadwork already. Or at least pretend like you're working instead of sitting around playing with your big toys and shiny lights. That would make me handle the five-lane highway being cut down to one lane (oh, and would it hurt you to put up a sign or two telling us in advance where to go instead of just suddenly closing a lane?) in a much less stressful way.

Adrin and I are getting along famously. The house is staying cleaner, because she's still in guest mode in my mind. Ah, the wonders of southern hospitality upbringing.

The most exciting thing that's happening is that I've been sucked into NaNoWriMo this year (http://www.nanowrimo.org/ for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about). Yes, my friends - I am going to attempt the 50,000-word novel in a month. Kim got me started. She was so excited that I decided to be her writing buddy. I think Angela is doing it, too. Good times.

Now, to go home and watch Gilmore Girls (a fresh group of Luke-isms, coming your way tomorrow - you can't fool me - I know you're excited) and "that tree show," as one of my students calls it.

Sounds familiar. I was the same way last year, but when it came time to actually write, I froze up. I squeezed out maybe a paragraph, then I just neglected my story all month...Of course, I have no self-discipline, so I doubt you'll be the same. :D
