Here it is, my friends! I have embarked upon a highly desired and greatly required weekend. I took a nap this afternoon. It was glorious. Quite the lovely way to celebrate Angelina Jolie's birthday (did you know that she's my age? do you care? :) ).

So...is Jake Gyllenhaal playing Superman or not? My inquiring mind wants to know. And it would be amused if Superman was dating Spiderman's girlfriend. Oh, and just because it can't be said enough, insert *drooling and frothing at the mouth and various other oral responses to the raw sexiness that is Jake Gyllenhaal* here.

Dude. Gas is expensive. If this week has been any indication of things to come, I'm going to be spending over $200 just on the commute for the next four weeks. That's even after taking into account that I park and ride the DART halfway to Dallas. Why did I think this was a good idea, again?

That settles it. I am officially in the market for a full-time job, teaching or otherwise. Not three part-time jobs, not two part-time jobs. One. Full-time. Job. It would be good to only have to work 40-50 hours a week for a change. And having insurance again would work for me. And only having to drive to one place every day instead of all around the friggin' metroplex would be nice, too.

Ugh. Updating resumes and interviewing. I know I teach it, but that doesn't mean I like to do it. Oh, well. Maybe I'll find something that works for me. I've been told I'm very marketable (and I'm pretty sure they weren't just trying to find a nice way to call me a prostitute), so we'll see.

Either that, or I'll decide the drive isn't so bad after all and just wait for a full-time position at one of my schools.

Or I'll undergo some trauma that leaves me the ability to teleport. I'd be a good superhero.

Have a good weekend!

mmmm....teleportation...

Good luck on that full-time teaching gig thing. If it doesn't happen, you can always open your own coffee shop.

I'd definitely stop in for some GOOD java.

*thinks of all those people working in downtown Dallas, with nothing more to hope for than Starbucks* Poor, deprived individuals. How do they make it through the day?

I wonder if ECC would let me set up an Equal Exchange kiosk....I could trade extra credit in class for labor...or something more legal...
