Awww...jaded woobie Lex....
New Smallville eps do a body good.
I haven't had the chance to look through all your posts, but I'm pretty sure The Scene of Choice is Clark getting frisky with Lex by the car. He. Ripped. His. Shirt. Off. Off, open, whatever. You live in your imagination; I'll live in mine. Bless Clark's stupid little heart, he is good for something. And I could gaze all day at the "take me to bed or lose me forever" look that Lex gave Clark at that moment. I'm certain that the tape is just a little thinner during that scene because I had to rewatch it so many times.
But moving on...
Why are men stupid? Why do they think they can handle everything completely on their own without any help from people who love them? If I had been drinking, and the only thing I used in the drinking game was when one of the Kent boys tried to go it alone, I'd have still been drunk this morning. I wanted Martha to say, "Just fall off the damn roof, then - see if I care!" "I don't expect you to understand any of this...," *heavy, weight-of-the-world sigh* "I can't let my father die for my mistake." If you want someone to understand or "not let your mistakes be theirs," um, maybe you share a little. I hate man drama. Dumbass macho crap. Note to Kents - the irrational decision to try to shoulder all the burdens yourself doesn't make you more of a man - it makes you less of one.
Other than that, Legacy was a delight.
Well, except for the scary Lionel-Clark-Lex images that kept plaguing my brain. Get out of my head! Get out! Get out!
And the heartbreaking image it left me of Lex as a meathead. Go ahead. Bash me about the neck and shoulders for saying it. I deserve it. Believe me, I'm just as horrified by the thoughts as you are. The thing I love most about Lex (except, of course, for the fact that he bears a striking resemblance to Michael Rosenbaum) is his intelligence. And before you go giving me all these examples of how intelligent he was in this ep, I know. I saw them. I'm not disputing them. In fact, I'm clinging desperately to them. I think it was just something in his voice a couple of times. I'm sure it will pass. *cries softly*
I do have to say that he was entirely droolworthy. "Maybe if I speak into the microphone, you'll hear it clear." Heh, heh. I do love a smartass. Even a well-educated, yet grammatically incorrect one. How sexy was that stare? Guh...
And Lex speaking German. Not incredibly well, no, but sexy as hell nonetheless. And I'm glad they brought back Lex quoting poetry. Even if it was to Lana. Again.
I like the trust theme. And I don't think I'm being too mean when I say that I hope every time Clark hears the word "trust," it pushes a tiny dagger into his heart and reminds him of what a hypocritical, stupid, alien freak he is. I loved Lex grasping Clark's arm, talking about trusting friends, knowing the whole time that they were both keeping secrets (have I mentioned how sexy that man is?). But my favorite trust scene was when Lana basically told Clark that she trusts Lex's judgment over his. Daggers!
All in all, I loved it, even though it doesn't sound like I did.

Date: 2004-04-15 11:07 pm (UTC)WORD! I've been waiting patiently for Martha Kent to blow a serious gasket for about a year and half now. She is trying her best to take care of her boys and they are just such big dumb lunkheads. This years cliffhanger should be Martha at the door, suitcase in hand, telling her boys off before she heads off to places unknown.

But Lex is getting a little strange, isn't he? Maybe "meathead" does suit it best. The last two episodes prior I was disappointed in the Lex character. It seemed so flat, like he just wasn't in the "zone" any more.
And yup! to the German. His accent sounded fairly good to my untrained ears, but his inflection could use a bit of work. Too monotone! You could tell he wasn't fluent. But if I can't understand a words he's saying, that means I'll concentrate on the sounds all the more. :) Oh my.
