My students at Ft. Worth started speaking today. Now they're all speaking. I think this is the first time I've heard words come out of some of their mouths. The first speech day is sometimes enlightening. Not often. But sometimes.

Less than 7 days until my Hope goes away to Boston. *sniff* We're having a "surprise" dinner (which is not really a surprise - she's on to our wily schemes) tonight. That is always fun. Maybe it's just the fact that she's moving away, but I've noticed that our group has had more fun just hanging out together than we've had in a long time. Makes it ending seem sadder. *sigh* I'm blue (the mood, not the color, although that would be cool...).

I just got an up in credit, so I get to fly into Pittsburgh to pick up Kathy for the NY rosebud thing instead of driving that long ass drive. Praise. The. Lord. I was not looking forward to the lonely, 20-hour, cross-country haul. Now I get to look forward to NY (1st time I've ever been - squee!! Ecstatic in my attic!) completely.

Hey - I don't have tybaldt's number - he doesn't even return my emails. Perhaps he'll be at the salsa convention, though, since he runs in those circles. That would shock the hell out of him to see me there. Tee hee..
