How sad I am
Dec. 5th, 2003 02:14 pmNo, not sad upset, but sad pathetic. I just got my new textbooks for the courses at NCTC next spring (we're going from the communication survey course to a strictly public speaking course), and I am very, very excited about it. I've already read half the textbook. I'm not sure it's that good, but I'm just so happy to be teaching just public speaking (well, in at least one school) instead of all that other crap. Yea! *turns a cartwheel, falls on ass*
And Christmas looms in the air. Puts me in the mood for this.
1. Do you have a favourite carol/hymn?
Hark the Herald Angels Sing
2. What are your three favourite holiday songs? If there's a particular version, name the artist.
Jingle Bell Rock by Brenda Lee
White Christmas by Bing Crosby
Walkin' 'Round in Women's Underwear (don't know who does it, but it's hilarious - to the tune of Winter Wonderland)
3. What's your favourite holiday movie?
White Christmas
Honorable mention to A Christmas Story and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
And I'm freakishly obsessed with I'll Be Home for Christmas, starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas
Holiday movies that should never see airtime again - Miracle on 34th Street (all 1,024 versions) and It's a Wonderful Life
4. What's your favourite holiday TV special?
Can't think of one. I guess I don't really watch them. I love Oprah's favorite things - it's one of the few Oprah's I ever watch - does that count? Oh, and I loved the AI special, but that's just because Clay was on it.
5. What's your favourite holiday tradition?
The day after Thanksgiving, my mom makes Christmas candy. My sister and I are suddenly very popular when we return from Thanksgiving at the folks' house.
6. What recent holiday trend/idea/fad do you absolutely hate?
The crowded malls. Big fan of the online shopping. Big fan.
I don't know if this counts as a trend, but I hate the nagging feeling that I've forgotten to give someone something.

Date: 2003-12-05 12:52 pm (UTC)Ooh, I love that one too - and "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree". It always makes me want to dance around and decorate.
I'm odd, aren't I? *g*

Ooh, that sucks...I do that with Christmas cards. I'm always convinced I've forgotten someone.
