Winding down

The last week of classes before finals is usually stressful to me because I start getting separation anxiety from my students, but not so much this semester. I just feel numb. And I can't wait until the weekend. Does this mean I'm not enjoying my jobs anymore (no really, I do like them most of the time) or that I've just learned to not get attached? Not sure I like either answer.

Tonight should be fun. After 6 group presentations, if I'm still coherent, I may go to holiday on the square night. All the quaint little shops in town have cookies and champagne and wassail and Brave Combo plays on the lawn of the courthouse.

tennis shoes, pronounced "tinny shoes"

straightnin' Or a popular one in my family - givin' it a lick and a promise

16. The children's playground equipment where one kid sits on one side and goes up while the other sits on the other side and goes down?

17. How do you eat your pizza?
pointy end first, first half of the slice with a fork, second half with my hands. I have no idea why.

18. What's it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their used stuff?
garage sale or yard sale

19. What's the evening meal?
supper

20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are?
cellar

Surprise! End of the semester, and it snuck up on me, too. This year is just flying.

I actually ended up not going. Classes ran late and it was pretty much over by the time I would have gotten there. Oh well.

maybe you didn't have as good a group as normal this time around and taht's why there's no separation anxiety? I know I missed most of my gremlins from my first three semester but that crabby bunch from fourth--couldn't wait to get rid of them :p

I did have more whiners than usual, but the rest of them have been great. Maybe I'm just looking forward to next semester so much - one of my schools is going to a strictly public speaking course instead of the current survey course, and no classes before noon! - that I just can't wait to start it.

Or maybe I just need a nap.

I think its the no classes before noon thing--how could you not be excited about that?! :D
