Holy crap, it got chilly fast overnight. That is one frigid wind coming through the door in front of my desk.

Those of you in the Midwest buckling down for the storm, I'm thinking of you. I know I don't have to say this, on account-a you are grown and all, but please be careful. *hugs* *worries*

I just finished God in a Cup. It's about the specialty coffee industry and some of the issues going on there. I found it interesting as far as the material went, but OMG - do publishers not require that books be edited anymore? Are they short on editors? Are they looking for good editors? I would be happy to apply, if for no other reason than to spare other people from having to go through what I went through this weekend with that book.

Adam is here. I'm going to go home and make a very large French press of coffee.

{{hugs}} and worries are appreciated :) Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy that you care :D And if the storm coming is as bad as they say it will be, I need all the warmth and fuzziness I can get :p We are clear for another day--not supposed to hit us until tomorrow afternoon/eveningish

This is night two that the university is shut down. I haven't left my house since Monday. I may clean out the fridge and made a weird soup out of the random odds and ends I find there. I'd make a good hermit.

I saw on the news that you guys are getting some pretty cold weather so soup would be a good fit :p

We had soup tonight--tilapia soup that was sort of a chowder almost. I didn't have all the ingredients for the original recipe so I just added some stuff and it was good LOL

Aww, thank you! I plan to stay here at home until Wednesday night, at least.

Isn't it frustrating in the extreme to read professionally published books and find loads of errors? WTF.

Aside from that, would you recommend the book to another coffee lover? I find myself curious what issues might be plaguing the coffee industry...

I would recommend it for a look at the specialty coffee industry, which tends to focus mainly on quality rather than fair labor and cost and other industry-related things. It touches on those things, of course, because most people in the specialty coffee industry are sticklers about fair labor, as the coffee plant is a delicate, fickle little thing that requires special treatment, which it usually doesn't get if the farmers/workers are looking to cut corners. Happy workers produce happy coffee.

So, yes. It is a decent book, issue-wise.
