Answer me these questions three
Apr. 7th, 2010 07:42 amJust going to go ahead and start off this post with a poll.
[Poll #1548361]
Question 1 - OK, so this isn't tricky. Of course, I am MOST excited about seeing Hope. It will be the first time that she meets Olive (Mel and Adam's baby). And there is promise of coffee. I have it in writing.
I'm also excited about the other things. Our community market is starting its season this weekend. I hope to buy seeds or cuttings to start my little herb garden on the windowsill in my kitchen. I may get to sit in on a couple of interviews on Friday, if the panel isn't already complete. And the church I've been meeting with quasi-regularly? I like them. I'm not quite comfortable enough to let my guard down fully like I could at Christ Fellowship - I'm a little afraid that I would break them if I did - but I like them. We'll see how this goes.
Question 2 - Now that I look at it, I'm not sure that I can choose. I'm excited about Hunter's play, helping Maggie face her fear of the deep blue sea by watching Oceans, and Arts and Jazz Fest.
I'm less excited about the other two. In fact, I'm not sure "excited" is the word I would use there. I am watching Mel and Adam's cat while they get settled in the new place. Flower loves me, so she should be okay. I have a couple of weeks to cat-proof the apartment. I'm just nervous about leaving her that Saturday when I drive down to see the play. I'm sure Mel will check on her, though.
As far as University Day goes, we have a booth to help sign people up to be a part of the national registry for potential blood marrow donors. I hope that's not one of my social awkwardness days. However, just in case it is, I am sharing the booth with two people who are pretty outgoing, so I'm covered.
Question 3 - I would take any of the above. But the one I'm most over? Teaching this semester. The students are okay. It's not them; it's me. I'm done. I have no patience left. A student asked me how long her speech was supposed to be, and I am pretty sure the look I gave her could be construed as a threat. In my defense, the speech was due that day. So it wasn't exactly the time to be asking how much of a speech she should have prepared. But still. Her speech turned out to be just fine. I'm just cranky.
The semester being over is bittersweet. Sweet because it's over. Bitter because most of our RAs are leaving. I'm really going to miss them. Also, the end of the spring semester at the residence hall just means the beginning of summer conferences, and I don't really see that as an improvement.
Only a little bit of the desk shift left. Time is crawling and the person sitting at the desk is a mouth breather. *shudders*
Have a good day today!
