Sep. 8th, 2005 03:46 amUgh. Shelly's birthday is Friday, but we celebrated tonight with dinner and the richest chocolate cake that ever was. It was a normal chocolate cake...but then there were chocolate chips in it. And instead of icing it, there was a thick layer of chocolate chips on top, all melted and gooey. *gurgles* So good. So full. I think that filled my chocolate quota for the month. And with all that sugar coarsing through my system, I'll have no problem staying alert tonight. Tonight may be the night for dancing at the desk. That is, if I can get my music station to play something other than Portishead or the blues.
Margat had her baby! Little girl! Six pounds, ten ounces, and twenty inches long! Picture shall come soon! With lots of exclamation points, apparently!
The RA's in this building are the cutest RA's in all the land.

Classes are going well. I gave the first lecture last night, so we did the whole how-much-can-I-get-away-with dance. I don't mind if they disagree with me. In fact, I encourage them to voice any disagreement with the material. But if they want to defend their position, should they not expect that I'll defend mine as well? If you're going to make a point, make it. If you're going to make an argument, bring it. I'm not one of those people who just agree to spare feelings. I'm there to teach, not coddle. I think I got that point across by the end of the class, even if it was a rough start.
Oh my. Now it's playing Sometimes When We Touch. Mmmm...cheesy goodness.
People should not send me pictures of homeless animals. I'm such a sucker. I may foster two cats. Their names are Bob (because he's bob-tailed) and BW (which I can only assume stands for Barry White). So cute. I wish I had pictures to show you so that you could all see how cute they are.
