It must be Texas/OU weekend.

It’s that time of year again. I can’t drive on the highway without encountering hordes of crazed football fans, with their shoe-polished windows blocking their ability to see me clearly, causing them to dart in and out of my lane without warning, and their little OU flags, waving frantically from their antennae, as they make their way to wherever in the Metroplex they hold that silly game. Damn for’ners (Pronunciation: fer-ners. Rough English translation: foreigners. Definition: people who are not from Texas who seem to have aggravation of the natives as their sole purpose in visiting our grand state.). Note to self – stay at home this weekend. Make people come to you.

Thankfully, I have plenty to keep me busy at home this weekend. Tomorrow, the parents are bringing me a couple of shelves that Dad built. Yay! Free stuff! Then tomorrow night I’m having my candle party, followed by a Homemade Gourmet party on Sunday night. I invited lots of people, but very few have RSVP-ed. It may just be the family and I. More snacks for us, I guess.
