Ah, my old nemesis. We meet again. And about four weeks into the semester. Right on time.
OK, so it's not really full-on insomnia. But it's enough to make me constantly sleepy. I am only getting about 2-3 hours of sleep a day. At least the small amount of sleep that I'm getting is deep. I guess that's something.
Part of me thinks that it's just the excitement over new TV. I love Chuck so much. I wasn't expecting anything really, but it was awesome. And I was excited about Kensei (!!! Rawr), and I like Maya (although I'm a little nervous about her power, because...well...folks die. Yeah.). And Milo Ventimiglia should just be chained up and shirtless all the time. I'm just so happy it's new again. I enjoyed Beauty and the Geek again this week (although one of my naplets caused me to miss the first ten minutes), as well as new House and Boston Legal. And, although I'm not watching it (sad!) because I'm a wuss, the teaser for Supernatural which contained the line, "If we go down, we go down together" = happy for me. Michelle and I both got a good snicker out of that one.
So yay for TV!
The staff at the dorm had a program tonight that involved a pinata. When I left Monday morning, Pat the Bull was intact. When I returned tonight, Pat was severed in twain, and his head was hanging from the ceiling. I must confess that it is a little disturbing.
Observe:

Also, the butt of Pat the Bull was sitting on the step stool:

OK, so it was a little funny when Kyle put the posterior portion on his head and many jokes including the term "asshat" were made, but sadly, there are no pictures of that.
It's a weird little place that I work.

Re: Pat??
Date: 2007-09-27 07:47 am (UTC)Originally, his name was Pat because it is a neutral name and one of the RAs couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl. Uh...it's a bull. Bulls are always boys. City folk! So then it became Pat the Bull because everyone was patting it on the head when they walked in.
Wow, you have gotten the reading bug. And you went from gardening to Kafka. Aw, I miss you. I'm not the biggest fan of Kafka, but I think it's more the near impossibility of translating those long ass German sentences to something that is intelligible in English than with the subject matter. I kinda like the subject matter. Then again, I'm a satiric-call-for-revolution type of girl.

I want to watch Heroes, but I still need to watch most of the first season. Dangit.

Date: 2007-09-27 07:49 am (UTC)I think I'm going to have to drag out the tapes of last season's Heroes and give them a once-over as well. Or maybe I'll just pick up the DVDs, since I don't have all the episodes. Then we could have a watching party. *plots*

Date: 2007-09-28 06:50 am (UTC)My sister watches Ugly Betty. The couple of times I've seen it, I really liked it.
ER stresses me out. I tried to watch it, but it just gave me nightmares.

Date: 2007-09-28 05:08 pm (UTC)I like to watch ER, but not any of the surgery stuff, even though I KNOW it's fake. It still grosses me out. So I tend to read or be behind a computer and then watch parts of it.
I know a lot of the oldies on Don't Forget the Lyrics even though I was born in 1982. I grew up with oldies and I love them. I missed a lot of 80s and 90s music. I know some 80s and I'm almost lost in the 90s.
