The Death of Me
Jul. 28th, 2006 06:55 amIt's official. I shall not be killed by a caffeine-induced heart attack. Nor shall I run myself off the road in a daze brought on by the effects of insomnia.
The thing that's going to kill me is this little dancing show and all its emotional woobieness.
Why can't they all stay? Competition, schmompetition. Just let them stay.
Or, at the very least, LET THEM COME ANYWHERE NEAR TEXAS DURING THEIR TOUR!!! But sadly, no....
Natalie and Travis have to stop crying. I just can't take it. Watching Travis standing to the side, weeping, while Allison danced and occasionally used him as a prop in her farewell piece was like watching puppies get taken away from their mother. And the boys all hugging and consoling each other was sweet, too.
And wow - slashiness. Mama like.
Of course, my favorites from the night before were Benji and Heidi (mostly because she was dancing with Benji). *glee*
Allison and Ivan were really wonderful, too. I don't know what Allison could have done better to make people vote for her. Of course, I'm going to say that about everyone that goes from here on out, because I like them all.
I like Ryan, but I was pretty sure he'd go. He's just not as versatile as the other guys have turned out to be. Of course, in the real world of dance, one is not expected to be versatile but specialized, so he should be more than fine.
I was mad to have to come to work because I didn't have time to watch the performances again.
I shall, however, watch them when I get home.
And again this weekend, because
ravenluvslex will need to see them.
And again next week before the show airs, because Mel will want to see them.
I'm not an addict. I can quit any time.
I know all I've been posting about is TV lately, but the only other thing I have time for is work. So here's the recap: Teaching is the same as it always is. Andrew (the RA with the dog) is in my class, and he brings Gracie (the dog...do try to keep up), so that's fun.
As for the other job - one can only whine about conferences so much, so I'll pass. I'm just ready for the kids to come back. It works out beautifully - their parents can't wait for the summer to end so they'll leave, and I can't wait for it to end so they'll come back.
And I can't sleep. I might get two good nights/days of rest per week. The rest of the time, it takes me forever to fall asleep, and I wake up after an hour or two. No, it's not the caffeine. I tried cutting it out for a week. I definitely noticed a change - it made me cranky and tired. So I was cranky and tired and still wide awake. I'm hoping it's just the weird schedule - I'm still on 12-8 night shift, but my class is at noon - we'll see in a couple of weeks.

Date: 2006-08-01 11:10 am (UTC)People told me that I'd have "so much energy" once the shock wore off and my body adjusted to life without caffeine. "Give it about a week," they said, and I'd never want to go back to having regular caffeine.
People lied. I was crabby and tired the whole six months.
