TV. That's it. That's all I have.

I watched that show with the dating coaches on ABC tonight. I can't remember the exact name of it, and I'm too lazy to look it up. I have reached a conclusion, though.

The dating scene? So not for me. That whole "you have to kiss a lot of frogs to meet Prince Charming" nonsense? So not for me. No one whom I know is happily married to a person s/he tried on at a signal party.

Mid-message disclaimer: if you did meet the love of your life at a signal party or through the conventional dating scene, this post is in no way a negative commentary on your relationship. Way to go, you! It's just not my style, that's all.

I must admit, though, that my intrigue for speed dating is growing. Three minutes just about sums up my attention span.

I think I just want to try it. I'm not sure that I'm expecting a relationship from a 3-minute conversation, but it intrigues me.

Well, let's see...the upside is you slept all day. The downside is you watched a show with coaches for dating...? What? How does that work?
"Here kids, during today's practice we're going to work on the goodnight kiss portion. It's all in the technique." "On the third date, one should split the check. At least *offer* to pay for half, girls." "Good work out guys..."

Obviously, I haven't a clue as to what you're talking about...but hey...to each her own, I say.

Speed dating...Cool.

Hey, wait a minute. I'm not claiming it as "my own." In fact, I think I came away from it with that "I don't think I'll be watching this again" feeling.

And yes, it was pretty much just like that. Only they were serious. One particularly painful scene involved the coaches teaching one of the women to scope out guys in the bookstore. Nothing is more awkward than trying to pick up a guy with an audience who is grading your every move.
