Whining but Smallville - things even out
Nov. 18th, 2005 04:59 amMy shoulder hurts. Stupid dumbbells. Stupid coffeesnob for being capable of being injured by 10-pound dumbbells. I'm such a clumsy oaf.
I'm living on a healthy diet of Aleve. I strapped the heating pad to my shoulder and wrapped a blanket around it. That's the only way I can type. Because you know I can't allow a little thing like incredible pain keep me from updating my livejournal.
In actually important news -
The family friend that I mentioned a few weeks ago with leukemia died yesterday. I am appallingly stoic. It makes me nervous that I might just freak out any minute now. Not that I do that normally.
It's Homecoming week at UNT. The hall has been pretty busy. I dig that. I get to see people a lot. And we won the Spirit Walk competition (involving an original art item and a chalked sidewalk) because we have this amazing painting of an eagle (our mascot) playing cards with three dogs - like the Dogs Playing Poker painting. Our theme was Texas Hold 'Em. The painting rules. And we're the best.
My favorite new commercial is that Kmart one about the pre-lighted Christmas tree. It starts off with a dog in a sweater staring at something and then pans to its owner tangled up in and wrestling with a hoarde of lights. He gets the lights off himself and just flings them in a clump at the tree. Heh. That is exactly how I feel about putting the lights on the tree. That is my least favorite part of the season. Going to have to get me one of those lighted trees.
Wow, Lois. Who peed in your oatmeal? That said, I enjoyed the verbal sparring. I like those two together.
I'm so confused. Is it Lionel or Jor-El? Or is he just Jor-El in the Fortress of Non-Solitude?
Ach. Martha. She has to be in pain to see Clark, but she treasures the moment. I love Martha. I'm glad they kept her. I would have been angsty if they'd killed her off.
I cannot get enough of Lex at the piano. I think I have an instrument fetish.
Dude. It's a Ford Fusion, not a Ferrari. I know they're the sponsors and all, but do we really have to suck up that much?
When Spike hit the spikes, I said...out loud...to myself, "That's going to leave a mark." And then I laughed at my own lame comment. No wonder I'm alone.
Dear Clark,
Maybe since Fine was against you and all (read: untrustworthy), perhaps you should rethink his assessment of Lex. Just a thought.

And between seeing Jake Gyllenhaal in a Santa hat last Friday (yes. I really am still stuck on that movie. See it and you will understand.) and those previews, it is turning out to be quite the happy holiday.

I am now TWO weeks behind on Smallville - haven't even watched "Splinter" yet. But Lex at the piano? May be motivation enough for me to watch.

Date: 2005-11-18 06:15 pm (UTC)I really need to catch up on Smallville. I have managed to catch the last few episodes but I am missing huge chunks of back story that would be incredibly helpful :p
