Shooting Blanks

First of all, I like Amnesia Clark better. That's my Superman. He's compassionate, forgiving, merciful, and a good listener. And he would have trusted Lex if he'd listened to his instincts and not to Chloe. And he was able to admit where he had gone wrong, instead of offering lame excuses - "How can anyone get to know me if I'm never myself?" Yes, Clark, how indeed? But, of course, he didn't actually get to take any of this with him at the end. More convenient memory loss. Dammit!! *smites the writers*

I love Chloe. I know she's not a pivotal character in the whole Superman saga, but I like it when she gets some screen time. I do not like that, since she's not a pivotal character, that she's been reduced to KickedPuppy/Sidekick status. "Only one thing was different.....you trusted me." If only she'd had Kryptonite in her hand when she said it...but I suppose that would have messed up her whole trustworthy vibe...

Fun moments for me:
-Lex whisking Clark off to the cave. *snickers*
-"impromptu coming out party" - uh, no - that was last week when he grabbed the crown...
-"premature combustion - one I didn't need to know about..." tee hee!
-Lex's license plate saying "Lex XL." I'm sure that's a car reference, but that is not the message I got from it.
-Lex's crotch shot by firelight. Guh.

Moments of agonizing pain for me:
-All the Clana, particularly the spoilers from next week. I'm so nauseated I can't even comment further on it.
-Abusive Boyfriend Jason. As much as I like him being evil, and as much as I wouldn't mind seeing Lana get thrown about a bit right now, that shit just doesn't fly with me.
-Clark saying, "I need you to be completely honest with me." Made me want to sic Abusive Boyfriend Jason on him.
-Too little Lex. If his evil side is going to take over, I need to see it to believe it. All of it.
-The realization that I actually was so disappointed that Clark lost all that he learned in this ep (so, what exactly was the point of this episode?) that I was siding with Lana the second time he said, "This time it will be different." To my horror, I actually cared enough at that moment to shout, "Don't believe him! He's Lying!Clark again!"

-Blazying HoYay between Clark and Memory!Boy!. Especially the barely-there nod that M-boy gave Clark after Zapping the brains of Sheriff Fancy Feast and Lois. Oh YEAH, baby. *shivers happily*

-HoYay between Clark and Lex. You're gonna "jog (clark's) memory", hm, Alexander? Now that's an interesting euphemism...

-Lex's hands by firelight. Lex reading the map. Lex making digs to Clark about friendship. Lex lying to Clark (YAYAYAY).

If there's anything more sick-making than the "Newly Discovered" Clana, it's the addition of a Plot Device Infant. (ew, babies) I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Yep I felt like the ho-yay between Clark and memory boy (is that what we're officially calling him?) was prowerful and profound....

And yes...Lex's hands by firelight.....good stuff I'm tellin ya...
