Where is it written that all Mondays have to make you feel like death warmed over? Weekend. Too. Short. Coffee. Too. Scarce.

I've decided to cut back on caffeine. *waits for gasps to die down* I'm starting to feel like I did most of grad school (you know - tired, sick, ulcer-y...happy), and I'm not even smoking anymore. Apparently, my stomach no longer wishes to accept coffee without food. Feh.

I have jury duty tomorrow. Revise - I have jury selection tomorrow to see if I have jury duty. Feh, again. Don't get me wrong - I'm all about that civic duty nonsense, but I just don't like the way they go about it. They won't let me volunteer for duty when it's convenient for me (yes, I'm a nerd - I've tried), but they have managed to choose a time when I'm teaching 11 classes, which I cannot afford to get behind in, and for which I cannot afford to hire a substitute (because, although the school is required to pay me my salary, it is not required to pay for a sub, particularly when I am the sub). So I've had to work nothing short of a miracle to be off tomorrow. And for what? For me to get there and have them tell me - "Thank you for your time, but you have not been selected." I can tell them right now that they won't select me - I have too many opinions, and attorneys don't like jurors with opinions. So there goes a day. Maybe I'll get a nap, though.

Favorite quote of the day - Turkish proverb - "Coffee should be black as Hell, strong as death, and sweet as love."

Words to live by. I'm hanging them in my cube...
