Today has been productive in a avoiding-writing sort of way. I put up curtains in my kitchen, did two loads of laundry (I've figured out that my dryer works beautifully if you let the clothes air dry for a day or two first - sad and pathetic, I know, but I'm not going to give up on it just yet), and got some grading done.
I've trashed the novella that I was working on for NaNoWriMo and started anew. A new storyline keeps popping up, and it won't leave me alone. Maybe I should just do a collection of short stories. Then, I wouldn't have to completely start my pathetically meager word count over. That still counts, right?
This weekend, I'm hosting an open house for my friend Karla. She's collected five other vendors, so the running list is Party Lite, Homemade Gourmet, Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Southern Living at Home, and a friend of hers that makes jewelry. All of them are inviting all their customers. I've posted flyers in the coffee shop downstairs, sent out an email invite, and plan to post on
dentontx. It should be massive. There will be cheesecake on a stick. Feel free to fly in and join the festivities. :)
I just heard another professor's student say, "I've been sick the past two weeks with mono." Um....mono lasts longer than two weeks, right? Which means he's still contagious, right? Get back, diseased gremlin! *covers mouth and flees*
Speaking of contagious, I'm not anymore. I'm feeling much better. Thank you for the emails and comments and well-wishing.
I want to go home and clean before the feeling passes. My students will understand, right?
