coffeesnob318I am thankful to the flist for many things today.
1) Thanks to all of you who wished Shelly well. She had wanted to do a home birth - she and I share the same below average opinion of hospitals - but she just wasn't dilating. They took her to the maternity ward, and she was really blessed with a doctor who let the midwife assist and be in the room at all times, and he also let anyone and everyone whom Shelly wanted to see in the room (most, I guess, have a limit of one or two people). After 37 hours of labor, they performed a C-section, and she gave birth to Josiah Daniel a little after 1 am, and he weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long and has red hair. Mother and baby are doing great.
