I almost bolded the prostitution thing. But then I thought that they probably make more money under non-regulated status. The main drawback is health-risk.

But really, with all the willing women out there? If guys have to pay for it, I don't think it's the hookers who have the problems. Or else men undervalue their spouses even more than we realize. (I'd like to be equal in my gender balance here, but there just aren't as many giggolos by even a quarter.)

I think women are undervalued in general - by ourselves and by others. But my thoughts on legalization are along the same lines as legalizing drugs - these problems are not legal ones. It's a heart and mind issue, and we can't change hearts and minds just by making it illegal. In that sense, the law is useless.

At the very least, I think we should decriminalize it. That way, it's not regulated, but it takes away the label "criminal" off people who may already have some self-value issues.
