Making up your own questions is overrated

mostcurious (holy crap - I just had to look up how to type that tag - my brain tonight = pocket of air)
You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out :)
1. First Name:
Suzanne
2. Age:
33
3. Location:
Denton TX. Or, rather, near Denton. I just moved in with my friend Natalie a few months ago and technically live outside the city limits. It’s a nice subdivision. It’s weird living in the suburbs. It’s very cute and theme park-esque. I expect Mickey Mouse to jump out and scare the bejeezus out of me any day now. I do enjoy the adults-only saltwater pool, though. And they have their own gym that is even cheaper than the school gym. Bonus!
4. Occupation:
Desk Clerk, speech teacher during long semesters
5. Partner?
None and increasingly skeptical about whether it may ever happen for me
6. Kids:
none and sad that it may never happen for me
7. Brothers/Sisters:
one sister, younger, adorable *loves*
8. Pets:
Not really of my own. I assume love and care of other people’s pets, though. Natalie has a dog named Daisy who tolerates me but is not really a fan of me (and who may get bitten back the next time she snaps at me and tears a hole in my clothes *fury*). At least she semi-minds me now and doesn’t growl when I feed her. Natalie also has a cat named Thomas who has the funniest meow ever. He’s a curmudgeonly old man. But my favorite is still Nelly cat, who lives with Michelle and Maggie, where I used to live. He’s the cutest cat in all the land.
9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
1) Summer conferences *weary sigh*
2) Adjusting to living in someone else’s house
3) Being a sounding board for everyone’s relationship issues and being asked advice on how to resolve them, which I find odd, since I haven’t been in such a relationship for a shade under a decade, and I’ve never really been in a decent one, so how would I have good advice? It is fun listening to people bitch about something that I don’t have, however. I imagine it’s similar to the feeling that a starving person would have listening to someone bitch about how much s/he overdid it at Thanksgiving dinner. Good times.
4) Lying by the pool, trying to unclench
10) Where and for what did you go to school?
University of North Texas – started out music (which lasted about a month because wow – intense), switched to Psychology, added Communication as a second major about three years in. Ended up going to grad school in Communication. Currently looking at a PhD program in Rhetoric, which is technically in the English department and thus, would qualify me to teach English as well as Communication/Speech.
11) Parents?
Married for over 40 years. Just saw them this weekend.
12) Who are some of your closest friends?
Mel, Michelle, Maggie (people whose names start with ‘M’ apparently)
