Whoa, it's early. Why do people get up before 10:00? It just seems so unnatural.

My coffee guy downstairs continues to earn points. He was in the building before I was. I danced a little jig for him in celebration.

Speaking of things to celebrate, I want to wish a very happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] icalynn!!!

So...I was doing some math (I know, good times, right?), and I don't think that the people who decide how long mini-mester classes will meet can multiply. A 14-day, 4.5-hour-a-day class does not equal the contact hours of a 15-week, 3-hour-a-week class. 63 vs. 45 hours. That's quite a significant difference (especially when you cram the 63 hours into three weeks). We might not meet the whole 4.5 hours. Shh. Don't tell.

Coffee....check. Syllabus.....check. Sanity....well, I'm sure it's around here somewhere...

I have to go to class now. .

Intrigued? Read on...

Look at the lovely Lois icon that [livejournal.com profile] ever_angel made! I've been needing a Lois icon.

The weekend was fun. I can't believe my Christmas parties started so late this year, though.

Tammy and Michelle and I had our tree on Friday night. We opened gifts and went through our stocking. The theme this year was socks, apparently. We had stockings in our stockings. My favorite pair was the red/white striped knee socks. Michelle and I found them in our stockings, and then Tammy opened hers and had a pair as well. She bought herself the socks because she didn't want to be the only one without them!

We also spent a good portion of the evening taking pictures for Grandma. Tammy and I couldn't decide what to get her, so we stopped to think about what she likes the best. Pictures. The woman is always taking pictures. So we are making her a collage of us. I know it's pretty egotistical to give someone a picture of yourself as a gift, but she'll love it.

Saturday night was the church party. We did a white elephant gift exchange, except we did gag gifts. I brought a creepy Jesus statue whose eyes follow you throughout the room. *shudders* The first person up picked it and was stuck with it until Shelly decided that that was the perfect gift for Shelby when she goes to Spain. *snickers* So he got to get another gift. The best (worst?) gift, though, was a combination of a book, some random item that I can't remember, and The Biggest Pair of Panties in the World. They were black lace. Felipe picked it. Excellent. Jeff finally stole it because he wanted the book. The panties didn't go home with him, though. When Erin pulled back the covers of her bed that night, there they were. So the next morning, she brought them and hid them in Sam's diaper bag with instructions to pass them on to the next unsuspecting victim. Ah, vagabond panties - now that's what the season is all about!

Last night, I went to a progressive dinner with [livejournal.com profile] ravenluvslex. It was fun. It was more than a progressive dinner. There was a gift exchange and karaoke in the sanctuary of her church. I've never done karaoke sober or in a place that bright before. I usually require a two-shot minimum. It was a little surreal, but she finally got me up there to sing Build Me Up, Buttercup. It was between that and Friends in Low Places. And, of course, it was recorded. I'm sure she'll post it as soon as she possibly can. Spare your ears - don't listen!

Now back to work!
