What doesn't kill us...
Jan. 29th, 2004 05:19 pmThree things I've learned today:
1. Prodigy and driving don't mix. The combo takes my usual aggression to a whole new level. Smack my Bitch Up is not the song I want to die to.
2. Cab drivers are not to be trusted...at least, not by pedestrians.
3. The grilled chicken sandwich at Sonic is pretty darn tasty.
mmm...Dr. Pepper....*drools*
*insert Dance of Joy here* Dallas beat Ottawa!
( Ten things I gleaned from Delete last night )
Off to class!

01. Your live journal "user name" & what it means?
Back in the day, when I was a freshman in college, my first roommate used to call me coffeesnob because I would rather walk all the way across campus to get decent coffee than settle for the atomic sludge that they tried to pass off as coffee in the cafeteria. And I guess the name fits. I only buy fair trade coffee (whole bean....loving the freshly ground coffee), because coffee farmers are our friends and should get a fair price for their crop. I have major attitude about Starbucks - any time you see me refer to the Evil Empire, they're the ones I'm talking about. I am generally anti-cream, anti-sugar, anti-insert-coffee-additive-here, because it ruins the taste of the coffee (caramel cappucinos and highly caffeinated frozen coffee shakes are the exceptions). Although I do concede that bad coffee is better than no coffee, I'll go out of my way to get good coffee if it's an option.
02. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your livejournal represent who you are?
It's mine. I suppose it represents me at least in part - at least as much as I want it to. It definitely represents my fandom(s). I don't make things up about myself to post in lj, so what you read is true. But if we're talking perfect representation, I'll have to say 4 or 5, because there's a lot of me that's not here.
03. How much about your life do you post to lj?
I post general happenings. Sometimes I go into innermost thoughts, but not often. I'm pretty private, and the journal is completely public, so it's a self-protection thing.
04. Is there anything you refuse to post about?
I refuse to fight with someone via lj (mine or theirs). I had someone try to pull me into an argument (relax - if you have to ask, it wasn't you), and I just didn't respond. I prefer to handle private things privately.
05. On a scale of 1-10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others?
Depends on what I post about. I get a lot of traffic when I say "Michael Rosenbaum" or "Clay Aiken" because that's what a lot of us have in common. Some people have said that they find me funny, and I believe them. I don't think my lj is the stuff of legends, though, so 6?
06. From who/how did you find out about lj?
Word on the street was that this is where all the cool kids play. I think it was
gradeafan who hooked me up with a code.
07. Has anyone ever joined lj because of you?
You bet - I'm such a trendsetter. *smirk* I coaxed
tjbrown1978 into coming, and I gave codes to
ravenluvslex and I think...
tobeycat (may be mistaken). Now that anyone can join, I'm still trying to lure a couple of people who post anonymously *points*
08. What proportion of your posts are friends only?
Everything I write here is open to everyone, everywhere. I don't post anything that I would want to hide (although my paranoid self is tempted to lock up certain posts about students). Ah well - I don't say anything here that I wouldn't say to their faces.
09. What is your favorite interest on lj?
Lex, baby, Lex.
10. Has anything on lj ever caused you to establish, rethink, or even change your belief or position on something?
Not really, except for the occasional change of opinion on a character. I'm pretty stubborn.
11. How often do you respond / comment on other peoples journals?
Not always - some days I'm more verbose than others. But if I think of something (usually something smartass) to say, I post it.
12. Do you prefer to write in your journal, read other journals?
Yes. :)
13. Have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument/flame war on lj?
Not that I know of. I've been suddenly unfriended, but I think I know the reason, and she didn't make a big deal of it.
14. Have you ever banned someone from your journal?
No
15. Who are your favorite lj friend(s) and why?
I love everybody. I have different favorites different days.
16. How many of your LJ friends have you actually met?
Soo...many. Most of them, actually.
17. Of all of the people on lj you know of, who is the most like you?
Probably
gradeafan, what with our sharing a brain and all. :)
18. Why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list?
If they add me first or if I find myself reading their journal so often that I feel like a stalker.
19. Do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first?
Yes
20. What is the most likely reason you wouldn't add someone to your friends list?
If they constantly insulted and belittled me or my friends, I think I'd take issue with that and not friend them.
21. Is your "significant other" on lj?
lol Is there a man in my life that I don't know about? If I had one, I'm sure I'd make him read it.
22. Have you ever wanted to meet someone on lj?
Yes. Meeting new people is cool.
