*points at self*
*is lazy*
So if I missed anything in the last week (or two? When did I read last) that I need to see, please point me there.
I am just lazing about the desk. I love that I get paid for this. People are around, readying the building. I'm going to do some laundry in a bit. Because I can do my laundry at work.
Great job, this one I have.
And if you didn't believe I was lazy before, this will help solidify the thought. This is me pasting from myspace about I miss Chris.
The thing about being out of school is that I have a lot of time on my hands. And my friends, who all either have real jobs or teach real school or are gone for the summer, are still busy. And there's nothing on TV. I say all of this to justify watching American Idol last night.
I haven't really watched American Idol since Clay Aiken was on it. Cute, geeky, little, elfin man. So I haven't kept up with it, except through residents who watch it. But even so, I miss Chris. You may have seen him. That hot, bald guy? He's just...whoa. I could watch him forever. He can probably even sing.
I'm not sure how I feel about the three that are left. And by "not sure," I mean "sure that I don't like them a lot."
I can't watch Taylor. He makes me feel empathy, because he seems to be in pain most of the time. How else do you explain the hurt expressions? He looks like he's trying to look like a puppy but seriously overdoing it so, instead of Cute Puppy Face, we get Weird Trying to Be a Puppy Face. People should just stick to what comes naturally to them. And Puppy Face isn't it for him. Also, why's he gotta squat? Just stand up straight, man. That's all I ask. I can't tell if his voice is good, because I can't get past the nonverbal.
Kat was told her Over the Rainbow was the "best of the competition thus far." If that's the case, then I'm glad I've missed the season. Because it was good. But that's it. Just good. I almost liked her third performance...or maybe I just liked the kickass boots that she was wearing. She was a little happy (i.e., not bluesy) to be singing "I Ain't Got Nothin' But the Blues." She's very pretty and she has a nice voice - I'll give her that.
Elliott - I feel quite "eh" about Elliott. I'd probably cheer for him at karaoke after many beers. It's bad when I like my version of a song better than his.
I like Chris. Chris was nice. Oh well.
and I got to see Hope, in state visiting her parents, this past weekend! Yay!
After stopping in at Traditions to make sure the building was intact (it was), I drove down to Austin. I was a little early - we'd not planned to meet until 4:00 or 5:00 - so I did what anyone who finds themselves in Austin with some time to kill should do. I headed down 6th Street. Of course, it's just sad to drink alone (not that that stops me, most of the time, but still), so I ended up at Book People, where she found me in the coffee shop an hour later.
[Aside - just so you know - Your Disgusting Head: The darkest, most offensive - and MOIST - secrets of your ears, mouth and nose is just about the funniest thing I've ever read. You should get it and read it. Or stand in Book People for half an hour reading it and trying not to snort because you're laughing so hard. Or come see me and borrow my copy. I may even read it and act it out for you. Wouldn't that be fun?]
We then met up with Amy and Amanda and went for burgers at Waterloo Ice across the street. There were baseball boys from UT there. *purrs* Then Waterloo Records. Then Amy's Ice Cream. Then we visited the bats under the bridge. I'm very happy that they did not swoop at me. *grumbles something about winged rodents* Then drinks at TGIFriday's. Mmm...drinks. And there was a random cat on the balcony that couldn't decide if it liked me or not. Story of my life these days. Get in line, cat.
Then Hope and I drove to her parents' house in San Antonio, where we spent the night. Her dad made breakfast for us.
Then I came home through a torrential rainstorm. Good times.
Yeah. That was a pretty boring commentary. I swear it was more fun than it sounds. I'm usually a better storyteller than that. My bad.
I blame the cat. The cat threw me off. Either that or the fly buzzing around me. Stupid fly.
So that leaves me at the desk and being lazy. Yep. I think that about covers everything. Or everything I can think of right now.
